How to Care For and Swap Your Interchangeable Watch Strap

by Peter Cusimano on Sep 11, 2026

One of the best parts of owning a watch like the Space City or the TXN42 is that you're not locked into one look. Both ship with two interchangeable straps, so the same watch can go from boardroom-sharp to weekend-easy in under a minute — no tools, no jeweler, no waiting.

Here's how to get the most out of that flexibility, and how to keep whichever strap you're wearing looking as good as the day it arrived.

Swapping a Quick-Release Strap

Logic Watches' interchangeable straps use a quick-release spring bar, which means the swap takes seconds:

  1. Find the small lever on the back of the strap, right where it meets the case lug.
  2. Push the lever toward the strap with your thumbnail or a coin edge. This retracts the spring bar pin on that side.
  3. Angle the strap away from the case and pull it free. The other side will slide out on its own once the first pin releases.
  4. Line up the new strap's spring bar with the same lug holes and press the pin in until it clicks. Repeat on the second side.
  5. Give it a gentle tug before wearing it. If it doesn't move, it's seated correctly.

That's it — no spring bar tool required, though keeping a cheap one in a drawer makes the process even easier if your nails are short.

Caring for Each Strap Type

Different strap materials need different care, and treating them the same way is the fastest way to shorten their life.

Stainless steel bracelets: Wipe down after wear with a soft, dry cloth to remove sweat and oils, which cause corrosion over time. For a deeper clean, a soft toothbrush with mild soapy water gets into the links — just dry thoroughly afterward, especially around the clasp.

Silicone straps: These are the easiest to maintain — rinse with water after sweaty wear or swimming, and use a bit of dish soap if they start to look dull. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners, which can dry out and crack silicone over time.

Leather straps: Keep away from water and direct sunlight when possible. A leather conditioner every few months prevents cracking, and rotating straps (which interchangeable design makes easy) actually extends leather life by giving it time to fully dry between wears.

When to Retire a Strap

Watch for these signs it's time to switch:

  • Visible cracking or stretching that doesn't relax back into shape
  • A clasp or buckle that no longer holds securely
  • Discoloration that cleaning doesn't resolve

Because Space City and TXN42 both ship with a second strap already in the box, you've got a built-in backup the moment the first one starts showing wear — no scrambling for a replacement.
